Fisheries: Biology + (Physics + Chemistry) ÷ 2
How to Use This Calculator
  1. 1

    Enter All 4 Subject Marks

Type your marks out of 100 for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology. All four fields are needed to calculate all course cutoffs at once.

  2. 2

Biology Field — Botany + Zoology Students

If you studied both Botany and Zoology, enter their average: (Botany + Zoology) ÷ 2 in the Biology box.

    🌿 Example: Botany 92, Zoology 88 → enter 90
  3. 3

    Click "Calculate All 4 Cutoffs"

All four course cutoffs — Engineering, Agriculture, Veterinary, and Fisheries — are shown instantly in separate colour-coded cards with progress bars and rank labels.

  4. 4

    Understand Your Results

Engineering uses Maths as the primary subject. The other three courses use Biology as primary. Agriculture also includes a half-weight Maths contribution. Each result is out of 200.

  5. 5

    Reset and Compare Scenarios

Click Reset to clear and try different marks to compare your options across all four streams side by side.

Frequently Asked Questions
A cutoff is a weighted ranking score used for Tamil Nadu higher education admission. The maximum is 200 — not 600 — because secondary subjects (Physics & Chemistry) are divided by 2 before being added to the primary subject.
Engineering (TNEA) is Mathematics-core, so Maths carries full weight. Agriculture, Veterinary, and Fisheries are life-science streams, so Biology carries full weight. Agriculture uniquely also includes half-weight Maths as an additional component.
Both use the identical formula: Biology + (Physics + Chemistry) ÷ 2. Their cutoff scores will always be equal — the difference between these courses lies in the actual admission counselling rank lists, not the formula.
Add both marks and divide by 2 to get the average. Enter that average in the Biology field.

Example: Botany = 94, Zoology = 86 → (94+86)÷2 = 90 → enter 90.
Engineering (approximate general category):
• 195–200 → Anna University Chennai / NIT-tier
• 185–194 → Top government engineering colleges
• 170–184 → Good government colleges
• 150–169 → Aided / self-finance colleges

These vary by community reservation (BC/MBC/SC/ST) and branch. Always check the official TNEA counselling data.
Yes. This tool uses the official Tamil Nadu government formulas for TNEA (Engineering), TNAU (Agriculture), TANUVAS (Veterinary), and TNFU (Fisheries) 2026–27. Always verify with the official counselling portals before applying.
